Anybody having trouble with PNG's with the new Update of Premier Pro 2018 April 3rd?

$

I cant get Premier to read PNG's, I make them in Photoshop and export them as PNG's but when they come in Premier is all the weird crap.

I already clear the cache, re installed, re exported, started  new project, I cant get it t work! WHAT THE CRAP IS HAPPENING!!!

This are two pictures of PNG's it is one title, but Premier is merging all the PNGS in to one picture, same with the one below, it suppose to say TIPS on crussing, not all that weird color and reverse shadow going on.... this is totally wrong!! Radial Shadow for dual video clips

I am trying to apply a radial shadow (basically an easy way to make a colored border) to two clips in the same video. I have accomplished this before without any problems, but now that I am trying to repeat the process, it doesn't seem to want to work. The border shows up for one clip but will not display on the other. I have tried moving the layers around with no success. The settings are the same as the first clip with the exception of the color and position. Here is a reference video:

This is very frustrating to have it work beautifully for one project and then change for another. Any suggestions?

Help! Need Help Organizing Projects.

This is more of a question about organization. I store my video archive on an external 15TB drive. I use and reuse footage from this archive and every time I start a new project I find myself re-importing the same footage and new footage into my project. I have imported bins from old projects into my new project and also just started new bins with all the same old content. A lot of the footage in my external is somewhat organized but it is hard to keep up with keeping it that way since I add a lot of footage to the drive regularly. I have found myself starting a new project and then just creating dozens of sequences  within to save time re-importing footage for each video I build, but that just buries multiple videos. Videos that need there own project each, within one project. What is the best way to create a new project for each video and not spend forever looking for footage and re-importing for each project?

I can no longer make h.264.mov files which for us is one of the most common files.  Also mp2 files have black bars on the sides now when making video for DVDs yea we still need those.  Thank God I still have FCP...

Random Loud Audio Pops

$

So I've noticed this issue during a few video clips I've been editing. These audio pops only seem to happen in Premiere Pro (CC 20018). I've exported the audio to Audition, went directly to the same second/frame of audio, and the pop wouldn't be there. See below of an example of what it looks like (the square area).

audio pop 1.JPG

So your first thought is that this is probably an issue with the original recording... these pops aren't present in the original recording. Oddly enough, they can disappear on their own or they can shift. The one in this picture was actually a couple of seconds earlier in the clip originally but when I zoomed in to take a screenshot, it was gone. I played the clip a couple of different times after and suddenly the pop appeared again, only this time it was two seconds later to where it shows in that picture. I know that it shifted further down the clip because I had edited the audio with keyframes to decrease the audio to -infinity to remove the pop since it only happens across a couple of frames. Those keyframes were in the original position and then when I zoomed back in, the pop had moved.

But it gets weirder... notice how my marker in the picture below is set on top of the pop and the audio hasn't peaked or shown in the monitor? Yeah... so now the pop is just visually there, but it isn't (at this current time - I stopped editing to post this) actually creating the loud popping sound it was before. None of this would be a problem if not for the fact that 1. these popping sounds are showing up in my final rendered videos and 2. using adaptive audio or some other form of denoiser/dehummer/declicker/etc doesn't even detect/eliminate the sound. I've collected the noise profile, tried to reduce noise, and nothing... the pop is as loud as ever.

audio pop 2.JPG

Has anybody else experienced this glitch/bug? Anyway around it other than literally combing through hours of footage, and even then the pop may or may not make an actual sound after some time editing later on?

Keeping motion effect keyframes relative to clip duration

$

Hello --  I used to use Corel's editor, and one of its default behaviors allowed you to change the duration of a clip after you had set keyframes for pan and zoom motion effects so that the keyframes changed to stay relative to the duration of the clip.

In Adobe, the keyframes you set appear to be attached to the overall timeline, and those keyframes stay attached to those points in the timeline even if you shorten the duration of the clip.  Is there a way to change that?

Thanks much!

Key framing after using time remapping problem.

I don’t know if it’s my computer but whenever I use time remapping to either slow down or speed up a clip and then try to use key frames for the scaling on the clip it will not show up in my display. Whatever the first key frame I use that is going to be whatever I see. Very frustrating. Called adobe 3 times and they have no solutions. What has worked is going back to the frist premiere 18 Version.

Media Mismatch w/ Newest Premiere Pro CC Update 4/14/18

Hello Premiere Community,

The Quesiton is: How do I re-link media that is getting this Media Mismatch error message. All the files are in the exact same place as they were nothing has changed except for the new update in Premiere Pro CC that I did last night. Please help asap.

Backstory:

First time posting here - appreciate all your help. I am currently in the process of editing an active Premiere Pro project and I chose to update my systems last night because the update was available.

When I went to open Premiere this morning all the MP4 files in my footage folder where offline. When I went to link the media I received this message " Media Mismatch. The selected files do not contain video media used by clip references in one or more sequence. These video clip references will be deleted, and cannot be undone. Do you want to continue.?" 0K or Cancel.

When I pressed OK the message went away and the entire selection of the clip in the active sequence disappeared completely. I closed the project and didn't save so that I could open again and retry - same conclusion. When I hit cancel we just go back to the selection menu.

TO SAVE TIME:

I did some poking around already and learned that 1 solution is too duplicate the original MP4 files but maintain the file names. Then just relink to the new clip and it DID work. However, this project has literally 200+ Hours of organized footage in various folders. I cannot and shouldn't have to do this so for this purpose it is not a solution.

Please do not recommend the MPEG Streamclip solution either - again outdated.

Please Premiere Genie - offer a clear solution to this media link issue.

Thank you!

[EPILEPSY WARNING] frames look crazy after render

[EPILEPSY WARNING: FLASHING COLORS BELOW]

I'm so confused by this I don't even know where to start troubleshooting it so I'm hoping some of y'all on here might be able to help me out.

I'm doing some hand-written titles for this video project. I want the lines to be wiggly so for each title I've written the title out 3 different times and exported them as 3 separate png's. I'm adding them to my timeline and cutting each png to be 4 frames, and putting them back to back for the duration of how long I want the title to be on screen. Before I render, they look exactly as I want them to, as seen below.

giphy.gifgiphy.gif

but after rendering...... it looks like some kind of horror film nightmare music video lol

giphy.gifgiphy.gif

I don't even know how to begin diagnosing what the hell is going on here so if anyone could help me out I'd DEFINITELY appreciate it. I've tried deleting all my render files and re-rendering everything- that didn't work.

as a workaround I could just export the timeline without rendering these parts, as they do look fine when not rendered, but I would still like to know what's going on here so as to avoid issues in the future.

Premiere update - crashing in Color workspace

I update Premiere today. The first few times I entered the Color workspace, everything worked fine.

After 20 minutes of editing in the workspace, Premiere crashed, and every time I have opened it since, everything works until I click on the Color workspace tab, at which point the program freezes and crashed. This happens regardless of the project that I am working on.

I have tried reinstalling Premiere, but it did not help the problem. (I am able to make Lumetri adjustments in the effects panel.)

Is anyone else having this issue?

Future versions of Premiere Pro will no longer support Quicktime 7 era formats and codecs

$

Hello everyone,

I’m the product manager for Premiere Pro. As there will be a change to our file format support starting with the next release of Premiere Pro, I wanted to be sure you’re aware of what that’s going to look like. Below is the official statement and a link to further information. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Adobe continuously aims to keep up with the most modern workflows and support formats and codecs broadly used across the professional film and video industry. As a result, future versions of Premiere Pro will no longer support legacy QuickTime 7 era formats and codecs. Professional codecs typically found in QuickTime movie files, such as ProRes, DNxHD, and Animation, are not impacted by this change.  These codecs are supported natively in Premiere Pro.

To alert Premiere Pro users regarding this pending change, the most recent versions (12.0, 12.01) of Premiere Pro show a warning notification when you attempt to use a legacy QuickTime format or codec that will no longer be supported, starting with the next release.

If you are affected by this change, please stay tuned for more information regarding next steps.

Replacing Proxies Created in Resolve with R3D files.

Looking for help finishing my first PP project.

I've cut a sequence using proxies created in Resolve from the original R3D files. Both proxies and R3D media are on the same external drive. I now want to replace the proxies with the R3D files to color grade and export the project.

What is the best way to accomplish this given that the proxies were created externally and don't seem to be associated with the R3D files by PP?

Thanks in advance.

GPU Preview cache option grayed out

On the "New Project" Screen, on the "Video Rendering and Playback" section there is a new option right under the Renderer: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA). It says "Preview Cache" And it is set to "None" and it is grayed out and can't be changed. If you hove over it, it says: "Uses persistent Caching on the GPU memory for increased performance". Does anybody know how that works and why it would be grayed out if I have CUDA? is it a future feature for the new nvidia gpus only? or for AMD cards only?

Premiere 2018 won’t import DV AVI files on my MacBook Pro anymore?

Premiere Pro CC 2018 Version 12.1.0 won’t import DV AVI files with MacBook Pro any more

Hi – I’ve just updated Premiere 2018 and I can no longer import DV AVI files. The files just appear greyed out. MOV files are fine though.

Last week prior to the update the AVI files were importing without a problem!! Why is this? How can I keep using DV AVI files?

The files are:

AVI (OpenDML) (DVCPRO): 13.1 GiB, 1h 1mn

1 Video stream: DV (Sony)

1 Audio stream: PCM

Overall bit rate mode: Constant

Overall bit rate: 30.3 Mbps

Recorded date: 2007-01-02 14:51:03.000

Video: 24.4 Mbps, 720*576 (4:3), at 25.000 fps, DV (Sony) (PAL) (DVCPRO)

Audio 1 536 Kbps, 48.0 KHz, 16 bits, 2 channels, PCM (Little/Signed)

Here’s my computer specs:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-Inch, Early 2013) Running High Sierra Version 10.13.3

Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory 16 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536

Basically just normal DV AVI files I’ve imported many times up until this update. I've got thousands of these files (at one time captured from Mini DV tape) sitting on external HDD's.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Evan

Premiere Pro CC 2018 constantly crashing

$

Hi, first time poster who's hoping someone can help me out.

I've used Premiere for the last 3 years without any problems, but over the last week it's begun constantly crashing. I can get about 5 minutes out of it, before the serious error message. The log's below, and what I've done to try and combat is:

Reset Preferences

Cleaned Media cache files

Opened a new project, and imported the old one in

Uninstalled and reinstalled it

This has been a problem with the 2017 version, and the 2018 one I upgraded to yesterday.

My MacBook Pro's specs are:

Retina, mid 2014

Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

16gb Memory 1600 MHZ DDR3

Graphics: NVDIA GE Force GT 750M 2GB

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

The footage is just 1080p, so nothing too taxing, and with no effects. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

My Adobe Audition is possessed!

Probably not really but I think something got turned on or off by mistake (I'm a novice here).  I edit Premiere clips in Adobe Audition to turn down breaths, and auto-heal pops/clicks and lately the waves are automatically zooming in and out while I am listening and watching for breaths and pops/clicks.  I constantly have to readjust the image then it will automatically zoom in and out for pretty much the entire duration of the audio.

*I use and laptop with a touch pad but I find it quicker for me to use a mouse to auto-heal and the spacebar to stop/go.  It's taking me significantly longer to edit several minutes of audio because of this issue - I appreciate any advice!
