Adobe Premier Only Importing 0.01 Seconds Of Footage?

$

I am trying to import clips that were recorded from an Elgato game capture, but it is only importing 0.01 seconds of the footage. This has never happened before, and the clips are no less than 12 minutes long. Regular footage that I've taken before is importing just fine. As I am typing this i realize it could be some type of setting in my Elgato software, but then again one out of the fore clips i am trying to import was able to import perfectly fine, but not the rest.

Thanks!

Track Matte Key Problems

So i'm making a video where the I used basic 3D on text for a fly through similar to Stranger Things for my opening. I had the Red Giant VHS plugin and I kept getting an error message about the buffer size.  After fighting with it for a while I decided to just export the text with the basic 3D effect by itself and the import it back into the project so I could track matte key it.  So now when I try to use the track matte it doesn't work and just shows the complete video instead of just showing on the white text.  I thought maybe a nested sequence would work, but no I keep getting the same problem.

What am I doing wrong and why is track matte so particular?

Problems getting 4k to run smoothly on high performance rig

OK, so i went out and built my own rig that I thought would be able to handle my new canon c200 cinema raw lite files.  I believe I must have something wrong with my settings, but I have exhausted all of my options so I turn to you, the best and the brightest.

Rig

Ryzen 1700X 8 core processor overclocked to 39.5 MHz

32 Gigs of Ram

235 gig SSD C onboard C drive

2 TB SSD footage drive

GTX 1060 6 GB graphics

Screenshot (2).png

I have CUDA enabled and am running a blackmagic intensity 4k card for video playback (happens when i just run it out of the card as well)

As you can see it is pegging out my CPU to 99% while not even touching my GPU.  Am I just missing something, or am I just stuck with a machine that can't handle this footage?

Video imports being unrecognisable

So my Premiere Pro Updated and now everytime I go into my project or import videos they are unrecognisable or only playing audio.... What do I do to fix this problem??

Premiere imports audio only

Hello,

Ever since the most recent Premiere update I have run into a problem where when I have imported my footage, about half of it is imported as just audio. The video files themselves are fine and have worked and imported fine when I tested them in a project in the older version. I have found a temporary solution to this problem via forums such as this by clearing the cache and renaming the folder they are in which has worked, but it keeps happening and now disconnects video in older projects that I have gone back to. Is there something in my settings that could be causing this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated, I can't spend 30-40 minutes each time I open a project trying to fix this problem. Thank you!

Still no audio scrubbing

$

I've read the other similar posts, tried all the common fixes, and even replied/added to a very similar one  -  but didn't get any feedback, so I'll try a fresh discussion.  I'm having a similar issue - no audio scrubbing while dragging across the timeline.  One difference I've noticed from the other posts - I will sometimes hear a first, short 'burst' of sound before it goes quiet (like it's starting to scrub but then stops).   I've checked the audio preference (it's on), I've played with Shift-S, no change (well, it turns off the initial burst, but no useful scrubbing), I've re-started the program - no luck.  And I can scrub (on the same file) in the source monitor, but not when it's added to the timeline.  And it's only on certain projects - I can scrub in one, close it, open a different project, and the scrubbing is gone.  Thoughts?

Thanks for any help/advice.

Stuttering playback in PPro with GH5 10 bit files

Any help folks could render would be greatly appreciated. Here's my problem:

  1. I get a ton of playback stuttering when playing back 10 bit GH5 VLOG files (GOP, H.264 codec, I think) in my sequence. It makes editing very slow and difficult.
  2. The sequence window says "MEDIA PENDING" for quite a while after I open a project. Up to ~3-5 minutes sometimes. I basically have to go get a cup of coffee before I can edit.
  3. I also get delays when I hit play, especially when I first open a project. Sometimes these delays are VERY long and sometimes they're only a few seconds long. They're much longer when I first open a project.

My system specs: i7-8700K (not overclocked) 16 GB RAM running at 3200 (I made sure of this via enabling the XMP profile in BIOS) GTX 1080 Ti (latest drivers as of last month - I heard the last drivers were buggy so I'm waiting for that to get sorted before I update) ASRock Fatal1ty K6 X370 Mobo OS is on M.2 Intel SSD (NOT NVME) Footage on a Samsung 860 EVO SSD connected via SATA. Dell Ultrasharp 4K monitor as main monitor, crappy old Insignia 1080p monitor as a side monitor. Here's what I've tried to fix this problem:

  1. Performed a clean install of the GPU driver.
  2. Updated all relevant mobo drivers, chipset drivers, and BIOS.
  3. Moved all footage and project files to a Samsung 860 EVO SSD. I also use this drive for scratch and media cache. It's 1TB and it's about 1/3 full.
  4. Reset Premiere's preferences by holding Alt when I booted the program.
  5. Set playback to 1/2 and 1/4 quality (no change)
  6. Activated High Quality Playback.
  7. Deactivated High Quality Playback.
  8. Disabled GPU usage on Mercury Playback Engine. Made the problem way worse. (When enabled, it uses about 13-20% of the GPU, according to my task manager)
  9. Uninstalled / Reinstalled Premiere Pro
  10. Run PPro as an Administrator.

I haven't tried proxies yet, and while I'm betting this would solve the problem (even my 4 year old laptop was able to edit this footage when I proxied it), I'd rather not if I can at all avoid it. I hate the speed bump that proxying adds to my workflow, and I got this new computer in order to avoid having to do that.

As far as I can tell, it's not a disk access error. My Samsung SSD uses less than 20% of its throughput even when playback stutters badly.

The CPU occasionally spikes to 100%, especially when a new clip is coming up in the sequence. I've heard stories about people using this footage fine with the same specs as me (some of them were overclocked up to 5.0 Ghz though, and I wonder if I should pursue that. I'll need a really good cooler though, because even mild OCing causes this chip to get real hot. I currently have a pretty simple Cooler Master air cooler and would probably need an AIO water cooler or something).

RAM usage often spikes to 13 (out of 16) GB when I'm playing back a sequence.

I'm also considering re-installing Windows though I'd REALLY rather not if I don't have to.

Things I'm doing that may affect things but may not: I'm using an external sound interface for all sound playback. (Scarlett 18i6) This 4k footage is scaled down to a 1080P timeline. I have 5 channels of video, but the project itself is about 2 minutes and pretty simple. Most of the channels beyond the first two are simple b-roll clips.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Untertitel (Subtitle) nach dem rendern falsch

Hallo Community,

Merci d'avance,

Audio glitch

So the audio has been very glitchy. The same audio clip can be at -6db the first time I played it and at -12db when I replay it.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any solutions that I can try?

I never had it until yesterday.

Adobe Media Encoder rendering old sequence

Anyone have any idea why Adobe Media Encoder would be rendering a sequence that doesn't include changes made in AE? I go to export a Premiere Pro sequence, and when I do, it exports a sequence without the changes I made in an AE comp. Guessing this is a Dynamic Link bug? The correct changes display in the intital export/preview window in Media Encoder. But once I hit the play button to start encoding inside of Media Encoder, it show the video in the preview window without the changes I just made. And the final video (of course) doesn't have the made changes either.

Ideal/Max RAM for Premiere Pro on a Mac? 64GB, 96GB?

Hi,

I can't seem to find any definitive answers on this.

What is the most amount of RAM that Premiere Pro CC 2018 can realistically use on a Mac?

I'm currently using 32GB, but am looking at upgrade to 96GB. But first, I'd like to make sure
that Premiere Pro, AME & After Effects will be able to use all that RAM, or if I'm better off

upgrading to 64GB.

I'd love to see any documents or speed-tests that I may have missed.

Thanks in advance.

Delete Track Highlight Thingy?

Hi,

Please forgive me, I don't know what the correct name for the feature whereby you can click between clips on a sequence,

and you get a white highlighted area, (see below).

Is there a preference one can set that can disable this feature?

It sometimes interferes with a particular keyboard macro I'm running.

Premiere imports .mp4 only as audio.

$

Hello!

I recently updated my premiere to v.12.1.1. and now have a issue where when i try to import video files (.mp4, shot on Sony a7sII), some of the files show up just as audio.

I tried to import through drag and drop, and the import window to no avail.

What seems random is that every time i tried to import again, the files that didn't work seemed to change, i.e. the same file could one time work and the second time not.

My computers specs:

Screen Shot 2018-05-03 at 13.43.23 (2).png

How the files look once imported:

Screen Shot 2018-05-03 at 13.47.28 (3).png

This is truly frustrating as there doesn't seem to be any clear-cut answer to what can be done about this anywhere, and I am working on a tight deadline with this project. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

GPU Render Error - what does it mean?

I am suffering frequent crashes, odd warnings and errors, EGP overuse causes crashes, sometimes the program monitor goes black and I know that Premiere is about to crash... anyway, I'm starting to wonder if my graphics card is broken? No software should be this unstable. It's a Geforce GTX 980 Ti.

The latest is this one, after attempting to render in-to-out on some 4k in a 1080 timeline with lumetri, scaling, and two adjustment layers with lumetri. Is it too much lumetri?
