Premiere Pro CC 2017.0.2 Terrible Lag issues on fast Macbook Pro

Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017.0.2 - 11.0.2 (47) Build

macOS Sierra

Version 10.12.3 (16D32)

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Running Premiere Pro on my install drive.  Project files on Glyph Technologies 4TB Studio S4000 External Drive, which has a spin speed of 7200rpm.

Note that we have this project on several other computers - macPro TrashCans, with the same external drives for the media, and it runs very well there.

Please help! My playback is SO laggy and choppy that I cannot edit. The only way to get it to play smoothly is to render in-out, which is slowing me down to the point where I may actually be fired from my current gig (I'm freelance).

Working with 4k footage, multicam proxies done with Quicktime ProRes (proxy). Quality set at 1/4. I realize on a laptop I should expect some hiccups, but not to the point where I can't actually work...

I did an online chat with Adobe support, and he/she tried to install a new Invidia driver, but couldn't figure out how to do it. Any thoughts? How do you that particular task?

Is it possible that Sierra is causing issues?

Please Please help!

thanks

Proxy Project Poor Export Quality

I am new to proxy editing, but my understanding is that when exporting from a sequence that uses proxy files that the encoder will automatically work from the

high rez media and therefore the export quality of the file should of a high quality also.

I toggled the sequence anyhow, to the high rez version and have used my usual export presets (which always give me satisfactory quality) but it appears to me that the exported file is giving me artifacts i'm sure are related to the proxy file.

any suggestions please?

Premier CC takes 10 second to play time line... Every time I stop

Hello,

I started a project last week and was working on it fine until a day ago when I came into my studio and booted the project up only to find that every time I pressed the play on my time line it took 10 second to start playing. Once it plays it plays the footage is fine no lag with the sound  and no glitchyness but once I pause and play again it takes another 10 seconds to start playing again. I am editing with MXF files on an apple but the footages is 2k and like I said it was running fine all last week.

I have since un-installed premier and re-installed it twice, cleared my cache from premier and off my desktop, cleared space off my hard drive, tried different hard drives, updated my computer, I have even started new projects with .mov files that run fine on my desktop but once imported into premier take 10 seconds to play. Even just an adjustment layer take 10 sends to start playing, its pretty ridiculous.

I just bought the program and Installed it onto this computer 2 weeks ago.

Please help me this is extremely frustrating.

Thanks

Exporting A Video with Several Audio Formats: Premiere Pro CS6

$

Hello,

I have a Premiere Pro CS6 sequence with audio and video from a VHS tape. The video (and scratch audio) was originally recorded onto DVD at 9,100 Kbps using a Panasonic DVD recorder, connected to a separate VCR for the tape's playback. I used another program to passively import the disc's VIDEO_TS files into one .mpeg file, which was then imported into Premiere. The audio was captured simultaneously from the VCR at 32-bit (float)/48kHz using Audition CS6, where a copy was edited (eq, multiband comp), and saved as a 24-bit/48kHz file. I imported that file into Premiere and aligned it with the scratch audio from the DVD.

The video looks great, needing only a slight black/white levels adjustment, and a narrow crop at the bottom, so keeping it high quality is a must. The big question is about exporting the same video with several different audio formats. Should I leave the 24-bit/48kHz file in the timeline, and let Premiere (or Media Encoder) convert it to ac3, AAC, and 16-bit, uncompressed LPCM files on export? Conversely, should I use Audition to take the 24-bit/48kHz file and "Save As" each of the aforementioned formats, which would then be imported back into Premiere sequences? Would it be more efficient for Premiere to export the H.264 (AAC), and MPEG2 (ac3, WAV) video files with their corresponding audio already encoded at the correct spec beforehand, or does it even make a difference? Should I export using Media Encoder instead? The audio is live music from some shows I played with a group some time ago. It sounded good raw, and now really sounds good after the appropriate editing, so keeping that high quality level is paramount. In my years of using Premiere, I'm not experienced enough in video editing where the audio is a mission-critical, analog tape music source, so I don't know which direction to take. I do know that It is destined for DVD, and for online viewing.

I value all input. Thank you.

Imported MOV file audio and video not in sync

Using: Premiere Pro 2017.0.2 v11.0

I have shot a video with my iPhone 6S Plus.  I have uploaded the video to my MacBook and have a IMG.MOV file with a length of 56.06.  The video and audio are in sync for the entire 56 minute file.  I import the file into PP and the file is listed as 51.57 in length in the Project Panel.  When viewed in the Source Panel, the video and audio are not in sync.  Seems like the audio is longer than the video.

Any suggestions for the difference?

Premiere Pro CS6 not recognizing audio in imported video

I'm a bit of a Premiere Pro novice, and I just started working with CS6. For some reason, when I import an h264 .mp4 video clip into my bin (via dragging it from a Finder window), then place it on my timeline, there's no audio. Same goes for export. I know for a fact that the source file did have audio; what am I doing wrong?

When working in the timeline and I go to drag another clip into it the other clips and background of the time line show a picture of what ever is in the source. How do I fix this?

How to show metadata when hovering over clip thumbnail

$

Hi!

I'm trying to figure out how to show metadata in the little thumbnail that pops up when I over over a file name in my bin.

To be more specific (since I'm not sure that makes a lot of sense, and I don't know a lot of the technical terms)....

When I open my bin I see all of my files. When I hover my cursor over the file name, a little thumbnail box pops up. It has 4 lines of information, including the file name and file type. I'm wondering if it's possible to change or add to what shows up in that thumbnail box.

I've added info to the metadata. But I want to streamline the process of seeing that info by having it pop up when I'm browsing my clips. So I don't have to open the clip and then go into the metadata.

Thank you!!!

Renaming sequence causes crash

$

Problem initially showed itself as renaming sequences became impossible after recent update. Clicking the seq or file name generated a gray box instead of the text entry box. I could enter text, but I had to type blind or copy paste.

That problem remains despite multiple restarts and changing window sizes.

Now attempting to type long names (or copy paste long names) reliably causes Premiere to crash.

Hey guy, my name is Danny. I was rendering an 1 hour long video on my laptop. I did render the 1st and 2nd attempt successfully. however when I tried render the video the 3rd time (there were some editing changes I needed to make) this sign popped up while rendering. It freaked me out for a second. I tried cleaning out the cache, rendering in a different format, taking/fixing out the effects i put in, etc etc. I tried everything that i know. But, I'm stumped. it's frustrating. If any of you guys knows exactly whats causing this problem and help me out. I appreciate it. Thanks.

Premiere Pro CC 2014 - Error compiling movie - Notebook turns off

$

I've been trying to export a file and I'm getting this error every time. Sometimes it's at 80%, sometimes at 30%. It says "Error compiling movie" and the notebook turns off. The interesting thing is I've exported this file a few times before and never had a problem. It's a very big file. The video is 3h15 in length and it has a lot of transition effects. It usually takes around 6/8 hours to export the entire file. But I did it before and now the export keeps crashing. Any idea how can I solve this?

Trouble getting a nested sequence's audio to Track A1.

$

I have a nested sequence that I use frequently. It's basically an outro that I'll put on all of our videos. For some reason, when I drag this nested outro sequence into the sequence that contains my actual edit, it will move the nested sequence's audio to Audio Track A5. Then, I am unable to move that audio up to one of the earlier tracks, even if I toggle the linked selection and try to move it by itself.

I want the audio to come in on Track A1, so that I can add a dissolve from the last clip in my edit, without having to drag all the other audio clips downwards to Track A5. I have tried the "Assign Source A1" feature, to assign it to Track 1, but whenever I click on my nested sequence, the Source A1 jumps back down to Track 5. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

In my nested sequence, the audio is on Track A1.

I appreciate any insight.

Why can't I send audio from Premiere to Audition???

Hello,

I've been trying to follow tutorials on editing audio from my videos in Adobe Audition and it seems pretty straightforward....except my software won't let me do it.
The "Edit Audio in Adobe Audition" is greyed-out when I right-click my clip, so no dice there.  When I go to the Edit Menu and go to "Edit Audio in Adobe Audition" and select sequence the dialog box comes up but the box at the bottom that says "Export to Audition" is greyed-out and can't be selected no matter what I try.  I've tried to do this with video shot on my Nikon D5200, my GoPro as well as my Samsung S5 and nothing works.

What can I do to fix this????

Also, In audition, I'm not allowed to make a noise profile no matter what kind of audio file I'm using.  Frustrating stuff.

Variable frame rate video with Premiere Pro

Variable frame rate video comes from many places these days: phones, live streamed video recordings.

Adobe Premiere is a supposedly production level piece of software that cost a good chunk of change.

How is it 2012 and Adobe does not still have an answer to this problem?  After trying to editing/convert/mux/edit variable frame rate videos for the past 5 hours I am just exhausted.  No amount of conversion apps, etc have saved us and THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE TOO.

We have spent thousands on Adobe software packages over the last decade, probably 10s of thousands, and the only answer I find consistently is to switch to Vegas.

Surely, SURELY someone at Adobe with real insight into the issue can help answer the question of whether users moving into different medium should find a place elsewhere in the software ecosystem...

Hi everyone! I am trying to finish my thesis but I keep encountering an error that shuts down my project while editing, moving or deleting elements from my timeline. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thus far, I have tried cleaning the cache and restarting.

(Mac/ Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.3)

"Adobe Has Encountered an Error

GoodBuddy/releases/2016.03/shared/adobe/MediaCore/Backend/Src/Sequence/Action/TrackInfoCha ngedAction.cpp-88"

in addition, I get a dialogue box that says "An input contract violation has occurred"

Does anyone have some advice to save my project??
