Hi,
OMG, I just downloaded 9.0.2(b) after hoping for an update for the past month. The problem is STILL not resolved. PremierePro is still unusable on my system. This is bad!
Here's the situation (copied from my post regarding 9.0.1):
--------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
Like many others here, I'm suffering from catastrophicly choppy playback. The video is choppy, I guess, but mostly I notice the choppy audio. This has nothing do to with video effects, it's present simply by importing a video file directly into the project.
- What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number Premiere Pro CC 2015 9.0.1
- What operating system? Windows 7 64-bit, all updates
- What kind(s) of source footage? AVCHD imported directly from SD card in Sony HD camcorder. Not sure of the codec, but it's 1920x1080 29fps
- What were you doing when the problem occurred? Simply made a new project and imported a single video file.
- Has this ever worked before? Worked fine in 2014 and perhaps the first 2015 versoin -- I'm not sure when 9.0.1 came out or if I tried to make a project at that time. However, my old 2014 projects exhibit the same choppy playback now in 2015 9.0.1
- What other software are you running? Nothing relevant while working on this project -- just Outlook and Firefox.
- Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed? No.
- Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about your GPU, any third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU) and the type of media drives you are using. Intel i7 quad core, 3 GHz, about five years old.
- What kind of GPU do you have installed, including make, model number, and GPU driver? None that I know of.
- Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration? I tried turning it off, no effect.
- Do you still have the issue when choosing Project Settings > General > Renderer > Mercury Playback Engine (Software Only)? Yes.
- Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both? Output seems OK, but rendering didn't help playback within the project.
Thanks,
