Paused playback issues, Premiere Pro CC 2015 and SpeedGrade CC 2015
Hey, I have recently encountered some issues running Premiere on my Mac. I have recently updated to the beta of OS X El Capitan, but I think I've used Premiere since then with no issues. Recently, whenever the video playback is paused, the picture becomes discolored and heavily pixilated and blocky. When I play the video, it runs smoothly and everything looks normal, but as soon as it's paused, it goes back to the discolored picture. Thinking it was just a glitch that wouldn't show up anywhere else, I proceeded to edit together a short project, but when I linked it over to SpeedGrade CC 2015, the picture was the same discolored picture from Premiere, and, like before, it only shows when paused. When color correcting, the program saw the discolored portion of the video as the true color of the video, causing me to not be able to correct the actual color of the video. When linked back to Premiere, the original issue happened again where it only showed the discolored portion when paused.
Sorry if this is confusing, I've tried to describe it as best I can! Any idea of what I could do to fix this?
Lumetri Color Input LUT for C100 and Ninja 2
I was wondering if I could get some help on with Input LUT for C100 footage from either the camera or off my Ninja 2. It seems not to work as smoothly as my friends FS7 footage. I tried putting the Input LUT for the C300 but it seems to not be doing that nice of a job. I am using Canon Log.
My video is blurry when previeiwing and when rendered out
I recorded my 1280 by 1024 screen and want to put it to some audio I have, but its all blurry, even when I match the sequence settings and the exporting settings. When viewed in VLC the raw files are crisp and clear. Can anyone help me out?
Why am I getting Analysis Failure: Couldn't detect face in input video while using the Morph Cut?
Major DynamicLink bug in CC 2015 causing Render Effects in Work Area to fail; only solution is to kill AE process
Opened up a prproj file from CC 2014 into 2015 and was trying to play around with the new Color correction lumetri stuff.
When I scrubbed over a dynamically linked After Effects composition, both the video playback display and the scopes glitched out. Redraw errors and... basically the two panels weren't being redrawn with the contents that should have been in those panels. Premiere Pro used to do this, but would eventually fix itself. Not the case in CC
Probably related to the same issue, but having After Effects open, when trying to hit Enter to "Render Effects in Work Area" it stalls out at 0 frames (I also had it stop at 2 frames), and won't continue.
When I switch over to After Effects, I get an error message:
After Effects error: FLT_GeneralEffectCallPlus can not be called reentrantly. ( 25 :: 222 )
And that error messages piles up and I'll have to click OK multiple times.
My After Effects composition (3840x2160 at 23.976) has:
- video layer with alpha channel in the file, has 2 masks applied
- Pale blue solid with feathered mask
- A precomposed clip with position tracking data, with a Warp Stabelizer VFX inside the comp
...not sure if that's the composition that's causing the problems, but it's the first of many in my PPro timeline, and it would be the first one to render. So I think that's the one.
Windows 8.1, I can give more computer specs if needed.
Is anyone else having this problem? Please tell me I'm not alone or going crazy...
Workaround: kill After Effects process (or close everything and re-open). AE will restart and the problem should go away (for a bit)
This is happening to me regularly enough to be a big problem.
Update: if I sit in AfterEffects and hit OK to that error message hundreds of thousands of times, premiere pro does keep rendering.
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 Audio and Video out-of-sync after upgrading from cc 2014
Hello everybody
After upgrading to Premiere Pro CC 2015 I'm getting all my video projects locked out with "Audio and video clock out-of-sync at xx:xx:xx.xxx"
Any reason WHY? IT WAS WORKING PEARLS IN CC 2014!!!!
Can I run premiere pro cc2015 on two computers but one at a time?
I'd like to run premiere pro cc2015 on two different computers but only use one at a time. Is this possible?
A professional approach to a GoPro workflow
Hello, thanks for taking the time to read my query.
My situation: I have returned from my two-month long honeymoon with over 20 hours of video footage, shot between a GoPro Hero 4 Black, and a Panasonic Lumix GF2.
My goal: Over the next year or so, my spare time will be devoted to crafting a high quality 20-30min travel documentary of my honeymoon. It was a once on a lifetime experience and I want to do justice to the footage I captured, and to have something of quality I can look back over for the rest of my life.
My background: I worked in the UK film industry on films such as Skyfall and Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron in the digital dailies lab, working with the source camera 'digital negative' data. Digital workflows were my day job, but using Arri Alexa ArriRAW frames and bespoke tools, not GoPro videos and the Adobe suite.
My source footage: I captured my GoPro footage with ProTune on, low ISO and sharpening, Native WB and Flat colour, at 4k 24, 2.7k 48, or HD 120fps. I'm pleased with what I've got.
Having researched GoPro workflow, and Adobe's products, and having done some tests with my footage and workflow options already, I know some of my workflow constraints:
- I don't want to do the "offline" edit with the source mp4 files.
- But I also don't want to do the offline with master Cineform mov files either, because the resulting data size of my archive will be huge.
Graphically, here is what I want to do:
It would be the best of both worlds - something basic to edit with, then just the high quality Cineform encodes for the relatively small amount of media in the timeline.
Now...
My question: Is this possible? I understand that with Project manager some kind of conform/online would be possible, but I would want to conform the offline clips back to the original sources, then encode those in to Cineform mov files and continue with my timeline automatically updated.
My requirement: Conforming and transcoding selects must be automatic. Manually conforming an entire timeline would not be fun.
I hope this query of mine makes sense. I've seen lots of posts and videos about the Cineform codec and basic workflows, but I'm really interested to see if a more traditional source-offline-conform-master workflow is possible.
My fear is that the simplest route would be to just buy a big hardrive, batch encode everything to Cineform and edit with that. For storage and throughput reasons though, I was hoping not to do that.
A final query: is the Cineform encoding the same fidelity and quality between GoPro Studio and Adobe? Is there no point in using GoPro Studio to encode from mp4 to Cineform mov if Adobe can do it?
Many thanks for reading, and for any tips and suggestions offered.
Black frames after export in Premiere CC 2014
Hi,
I am getting black frames in my exported video from Premiere CC 2014 and Media Encoder CC 2014. This is my first project in the CC 2014 suite, but in CC I never had this problem. When exporting directly from Premiere or queued from Media Encoder, black frames appear at random through out my video. I am using presets H264 HD 720 29.97 and Vimeo 720 29.97. My sequence is ProRes 422 1080 29.97. I am downscaling the final product for online.
I am making no changes to the process at all. Both formats of h264 give me black frames. Has anyone else had this issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Why won't Premiere 2015 open my project files
I am on a PC, and my properties say the project is an "Adobe Premiere Project." I can't right click "Open As..." into 2015, If I double click I have to go through the whole drill down to find the app in it's folder, and even then it woun't open in Premiere. As a matter of fact, after finding and clicking on Premiere it doesn't even add it to the list of possible choices of program!
I decided there were too many versions of Premiere on my machine, so I uninstalled 2014. No love. Then I decided to go for broke and use cleaner to get rid of CC, and CS4. Now 2015 is the ONLY version of Premiere on my machine and I still can't point the icon at the program. I cannot double click ANY project file on my machine. The start menu doesn't show any recent projects; no drop down arrow at all. I have to open Premiere 2015 and then use Open Project or Open Recent to open ANY project. Then there are plenty of recent projects. What gives?
Premiere 2015 startup screen
The new 2015 startup screen......
an improvement in that it's bigger, but a definite step back in terms of speed.
it takes about 30 seconds to load up a load of crap that I will never use.
It takes longer to connect to adobe and download the tips and community page than to start the program.
starting into the previous project is not an option for us.
could we have an offline mode for the startup dialogues in all programs.
or perhaps just launching into an empty project much like after effects?

Audio problems in Premiere pro cs6
Hi! I'm doing some gameplay- editing with premiere pro but have run into a problem with the audio cutting in the middle of a clip and then starting from te beginning. I've been recording 60fps gameplay with OBS and have edited a lot of clips but one of them just doesn't function properly in premiere. When i watch the raw footage in vlc the audio is fine throughout the entire clip. When i import it into premiere the audio is synced and works fine for 28 minutes out of 45. At one point in the clip the audio just cuts, pauses and starts over from the beginning while the video keeps playing. This has not happened to any other clips and the settings are the same in each one. 1080p, 60 fps, 44100khz audio. I don't understand why this is happening as the raw clip itself does not have any audio issues. I've waited for the conforming of the clip as well before i start editing. Suggestions?
EDIT: It actually looks like premiere doesn't comform the clip automatically for some reason. The other clips that are about 45-55 minutes takes maybe half a minute to conform but this one is just inserted and i don't get the conforming status bar.
Freezing stretches when a video or something else
to stretch a video or anything else in the timeline , it is not stretching the speed , is to catch the end of the vine or whatever and give a stretched sideways, two frames appears on the monitor area , and locks the premiere and must wait to re- edit
Premiere CC putting a think black line on 2 edges of frame
On export, Premiere has suddenly been putting a thin black line on the right and bottom edges of my video. It looks great in the preview but appears on export. Does anyone else experience this?
Cinema 4k to 1080 10 bit 4:4:4
Used these settings to render out a 35 second test Cinema 4K, 24fps footage off my Panasonic GH4 which was graded using Filmconvert. The output was a 1.45 GB Mov file as i used a Resolution size from the Drop down which had 350mbps output. Are people who are using the DNxHD for the 1080 10 bit 4:4:4 selecting a lower Mbps setting like the 10 bit, 175mbps option (No 4:4:4) for vimeo uploads or some other method?
I wish to know the best settings to Convert my C4K Footage from the GH4 to 1080p 10 bit 4:4:4 footage.

HELP! Audio goes out of sync after export!
OK, folks. I need your help. I have a looming deadline of THIS FRIDAY to hand this in.
I have a finished multicam edit of a show that runs 1 hr 20 min. It plays back perfectly in the timeline, all video and audio perfectly in sync. Looks and sounds exactly like what I need.
When I export the video as an H.264 file, the audio gets out of sync with the video by 13 frames! But that's not all... It doesn't happen to the entire audio track. There's about 50 minutes in the middle of the video where the audio goes out of sync. The audio at the beginning and ending of the video is lined up perfectly in sync. It's just the middle section that gets screwy.
What do I do?!
This has never happened before, and I've worked a lot with multicam in Premiere Pro CC before this. Never been an issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere, and also deleting all media cache files, but still no dice. I also tried copying the clips into a new sequence in the same project, copying the clips into a new sequence in a NEW project, nesting the sequence... nothing works.
My setup:
MacBook Pro Retina (Rev. A)
Premiere Pro CC (latest version)
Panasonic GH3 footage in 1080p 24p AVCHD timeline
3 cameras & 1 audio WAV file in Multicam
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Can't get PPro to accept video file.
I tried getting this to work in PPro 7.0 but it wouldn't accept an HD video file. I've downloaded a trial of PPro CS5.5 ( I purchased it as well but will have to wait for the disc to arrive) and now the file is imported but it shows up as an audio with no video. The video does play just fine in Windows Media Player. The following is the GSpot report on the file:
Can anyone tell me any reason I can't import this file?
Thank you,
.....Gord
