I need to do a screen capture and import it into Premiere Pro. I started using the tool that comes standard with Windows 10 in the Game Bar, which more or less works well enough for my purposes, but Premiere Pro seems to have a hard time processing it as I edit a composition with the screen recording. I can do what I need to, but it's very slow and choppy. I know of another person who experienced the same problem.
I've heard that video captured with other screen capture tools may not cause such a problem in Premiere. Are there any recommendations? I don't need all the special features, so something that's either free or only has a one-time cost would be preferable.
Lots of people recommend Camtasia, but it looks like the best stuff in Camtasia is all the editing you can do with the video. I can already do those things with Premiere Pro - all except the screen capture - so I don't want to pay all that money for Camtasia to gain the ability to do things I can already do.
Really, just a simple screen-capture tool whose result doesn't slow down Premiere Pro is all I'm looking for.
