Hello out there...
For some reason unbeknownst to me, every time I try and apply any effects (audio or video), Premiere Pro crashes. This started about a week ago, I went home for Thanksgiving, hoping it would somehow have changed, yet it did not. Wishful thinking failed me this time. I tried to bring the footage into a new project, but the same thing happened. The crashes normally come within 5-30 seconds of me clicking on the effects pallette, meaning it sometimes crashes before I can even try to apply the effect.
I'm running the student edition of PPro CS 5.5.2 (meaning I can't update to 6 to see if that would solve my problems) and I'm running it on a Macbook Pro (OS 10.7.5)
The footage I'm using is in the AVCHD codec (.MTS files).
The error message reads: "Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
I do not have any 3rd party codecs installed and am not running any other programs simultaneously save maybe Chrome or Spotify.
Not using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration or any I/O hardware that I know of.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. This is absolutely driving me crazy and I can't finish this project without using effects!!
Best,
Nic
