I have never written anything on a forum before and not really sure how it all works. However having started to use PP cs6 for the first time I have ran into a rendering issue. A couple of months back, we bought an iMac which has been amazing coming from windows. Unfortunately I have noticed preview rendering at times is extremely slow. Therefore I did the whole "hack" thing to get pp to recognise the GPU. Unfortunately I did not notice a difference. Realised later after reading some forums that adobe has to have done their part for my graphics card to do the job. Anyway I did not remove the hack. But instead just carried on using the mercury software. Im sure most people are aware of the hack in question.
Anyway, I have recently done a search and found that apparently the GPU has recently been added by Adobe. So first question is do I have to remove the hack for it to work. Also how do I get the software to recognise the GPU cuda card the way it should, as in do I have to download anything etc? If so from where? Or do I have to uninstall my pp and reinstall? I have also downloaded the most recent driver from nvidia .
The point is a preview render of a clip which is only about 3 minutes long with some effects such as sharpening and stabiliser is still taking about 2 hours which I believe is ridiculous and its left me wondering how long it will take to render for export the entire movie which is about 1hour and 15 minutes long?
Please help as there must be something wrong, surely a 3 minute clip should not take over 2 hours to render for preview?
