My new machine was delivered this week: a Dell Precision T5600 with a souped-up NVIDIA Quadro 6000 video card and the latest Adobe Productio Premium suite.
I gathered all of my latest video porjects and got ready to rock-and-roll with the new setup but sadly, I'm having nothing but troubles.
I get my sequence all ready and press play to see what's happening in the Program Monitor and everything works great for about 5 seconds then freezes. If I press play again nothing happens either in the program monitor or the source monitor. Nothing at all. The buttons switch from "play" to "stop" icons but nothing actually happens.
After two days on the phone with Adobe techs, I've done an end-run around my video card and switched back to standard VGA graphics. Now the video plays fine, but I have no audio.
Long-story-short, Adobe techs are having trouble seeing the problem, so I' back to editing on my crummy laptop with outdated gear, and have a $4000 video rendering paperweight.
If anybody here in the community has a suggestion I'm all ears. Incredibly frustrated at the moment.
